Impact
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of communities, The Wilder World Trust is always looking for opportunities to make lasting impact.
Since 2019, most of our efforts have focused on nature education and ecological restoration in Illinois. In 2025, we also began working on projects in Georgia.

Long-term
commitment =
lasting impact
Since beginning our work, we have invested over $4,000,000 into major infrastructure projects benefitting the community. Examples include:
-
Clearing invasive trees and planting native species
-
Restoring pollinator meadows, shoreline habitats, and aquatic plant populations
-
Extending and widening access roads
-
Building new parking facilities
-
Installing lights and signage in public recreation areas
-
Building and maintaining new hiking, running, and biking trails
-
Funding fish studies and fish stocking programs in degraded lakes
-
Commissioning environmental restoration studies
-
Supporting many Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Award projects
-
Working with local governments on long-term plans for activating under-utilized public open lands
