Quarry Care Volunteer Day - Chicago River Day 2026

We’re so glad you’re joining the crew. These monthly workdays are a great way to get outside, meet awesome people, and help restore the natural beauty in our community. Whether we’re pulling invasive plants, cleaning up trash, or giving native species a fighting chance, your efforts make a real difference.

For this month, we will be partnering with Friends of the Chicago River for Chicago River Day 2026! We will be removing litter and cleaning near the Centennial Trail trailhead located under the Lemont Road bridge. The Des Plaines River flows nearby, and is home to a variety of fish, birds, invertebrates and other wildlife. Litter harms people and wildlife and causes negative community, economic, and public health impacts.
